Key Information on the Label
The EnergyGuide label is divided into several key sections:
1. Key Features: Shows the appliance type and size so you can compare similar models. 2. Estimated Yearly Operating Cost: Based on national average electricity and gas rates. This allows you to compare the operating costs of different models at a glance. 3. Estimated Yearly Electricity Use: Measured in kWh. You can multiply this number by your local utility rate to calculate a custom yearly operating cost. 4. ENERGY STAR Logo: If the appliance displays the ENERGY STAR logo, it meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the EPA and Department of Energy.
